What Are These Banners?
These banners are small indoor fabric wall hangings with Baha'i themes. Display them at Feasts, Holy Days (Naw Ruz, Ridvan, Ayyam-i-Ha, Birth of Baha'u'llah), or special occasions. They can be hung on your walls permanently as a teaching tool to prompt questions from family and friends.
How are they made?
The banners are hand sewn (do not get out your square and measuring tape!). The center of the banner is usually a hand done fabric piece: a vintage embroidery, tapestry, or silk painting from different eras and cultures. Each is unique and special. They have adjustable tabs on the top to fit the rod of your choice (I suggest small inexpensive curtain rods - not included).
Some of the banners have no
words on them and you may chose what you would like them to say
:
Examples: Baha'u'llah ~ The Glory of God ~ Ya Baha'u-l Abha ~ Allah-u-Abha
~ Welcome ~ Happy Naw Ruz ~Joyous Ridvan ~Happy Ayyam-i-Ha

Why a peacock?
While I was on pilgrimage to the Holy Lands, I noticed peacocks everywhere - from the Archives Building to the Gardens at Bahji. The peacocks in my banners do not symbolize anything in particular, I just find them beautiful!
"The Beloved Guardian, at much time amused, always infinitely patient, would explain how in ancient Persian literature the peacock was considered the symbol of eternal life…" (Ugo Giachery, Recollections, pg.118)
